Team leader
The leaders are responsible for the overall project. Their tasks include the management of the individual departments, external representation, the overall organisation and the administration of finances and the team members. The students in this department have been part of the team for a long time and have distinguished themselves through their special commitment and prudence.
Body department
The Body department is responsible for the vehicle chassis and the aero package. During the production they laminate carbon, mill the moulds and carry out welding work. The students in this department mainly study mechanical engineering.
Business & media department
The Business and Media department develops the business plan. This theoretical marketing strategy for the racing car is presented at the various events. They also take care of sponsor acquisition and maintenance, offline and online marketing and the planning of all events.
This department consists of students from diverse study programmes, such as industrial engineering, business administration, communication design, media management and media technology.
Drive- & powertrain department
The Drive- & Powertrain department deals with the vehicle’s drive train. This includes the engine, transmission, differential, but also the gearshift and clutch. In this department you will mainly find students of mechanical engineering.
Electrics department
The Electrics department is responsible for the vehicle’s nervous system. This is particularly focused on the acquisition, evaluation and storage of measurement data. All switches, buttons and displays must fulfil their specific function. Students in this department mainly come from the field of electrical engineering.
Suspension department
The Suspension department takes care of the design of the chassis. Before deciding on a concept, it is necessary to study the individual subject areas such as the tyres, lateral and vertical dynamics, steering and the braking system in detail, in order to understand the mutual influences on the respective areas.
Driverless department
The Driverless department is working on an autonomous system for future Scuderia Mensa racing cars. The main tasks include environment recognition, actuator technology and vehicle dynamics control.
High Voltage department
The members of the High Voltage department are working on the development of the SPR21e. They are responsible for the concept development, the accumulator, the BMS and the electric powertrain.
